Setup WCMRUN With a Sample Macro.

            You will now use the sample macro that comes with WCMRUN to set up your version of WCMRUN.

            Using macros with WCMRUN allows you to tap the very powerful WordPerfect macro scripting language called PerfectScript to change information or formatting. Macros can be used to do such things a simply checking a document for a specific font and replacing it to modifying complex double headers, search and modify formatting in a document. The sample macro included will simply look for the New Times Roman font and change it to Arial. You will set this macro up to run on all documents that are converted whether it be a single document or a large number of documents found in a folder.


Start of Tutorial:


Steps:

1. Double click on the WCMRUN icon on the desktop to open WCMRUN

2. On the Quick Start click on Cancel button.

3. From the menu select Settings|Macro To Run

4 .The Settings dialog will open click on Select

5 . Navigate to the folder with theWCMRUN sample files, select SampleMacroChangeFont.wcm and click Open, the macro will now appear in the macro path box.

6. Click OK and the macro will now run every time WCMRUN runs.

7. Now lets convert some test documents

8. From the menu click on File|Batch

9. Click on the Source Select button and navigate to the folder containing the WCMRUN Tutorial Sample files as listed above

10. Click on OK to Select the Folder

11. Click on the Target Select Button

12. Navigate to the folder you wish to convert the documents to.

It is recommended that you select another folder other than the source folder to ensure easy conversion and the organizing of converted documents

12. Click on OK to select the folder.

13. Click on Start to begin changing the fonts.

14. WCMRUN will now change the found fonts in the documents quickly and easily using the power of the WCMRUN. The SampleMacroChangeFont.wcm macro we selected will now run on each document, look for the New Times Roman font and change it to Arial.

 


Once the replacement is completed, Navigate to the folder the documents were saved to and open the documents in WordPerfect to view the results. You will see that the documents have been successfully changed by WCMRUN and that all cases of New Times Roman has now been changed to Arial.
